Gary Neville explains concerns over Manchester United’s summer transfer target

Manchester United club legend Gary Neville doesn’t feel certain Declan Rice’s transfer to his former club will bring valuable changes. West Ham United youngster stepped forward during the last Premier League season. After the recent stunning performances, the 20-years-old seems to be targeted by United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Though Rice’s potential could help the Red Devils in their future success, Neville is uncertain whether the British player is worth £90milllion. To the question, if he would buy Rice at United, Neville told on Monday Night Football: "I don’t know. I mean, you talk about £80m, £90m to get him out of West Ham. We’ve seen a bid for Wilfried Zaha from Everton for £70m odd [which was rejected]. To get players out of the likes of West Ham now, Crystal Palace, it’s not going to be easy, so it’s going to cost a fortune. Would I say yes now at £80m or £90m? I’m not feeling that personally at this moment in time. But am I seeing a really good player who could potentially develop into something fantastic for the next 10 years? Yes, I really do think that. But would I go and spend that much money on a player [on potential]? Do Manchester United need another player [like that]? They’ve already got Nemanja Matic, they’ve already got Scott McTominay, who are doing a similar role to what I see Rice doing."
