Gary Lineker trolled Danny Drinkwater during the midfielder’s horror debut for Aston Villa. Drinkwater started for Villa against Manchester City, having joined on loan for the rest of the season from Chelsea on Tuesday. He ran riot in the first-half at Villa Park. For the first goal, Riyad Mahrez danced past a tame challenge by Drinkwater on his way to beating Orjan Nyland at the near post. The 29-year-old then had a more direct hand in the visitors’ second, being robbed off the ball inside his own box by David Silva. Match of the Day host Lineker took to Twitter to give his verdict on Drinkwater’s performance – with a cruel joke at the Villa loanee’s expense. “Mahrez and Drinkwater still playing well together,” he said, referring to when the pair won the title as team-mates at Leicester City.
