Frank Lampard claims Chelsea target is "one of the bests" in Europe

Frank Lampard has stated that Chelsea target, Declan Rice, is among the finest defensive midfielders in world football. The former Chelsea boss praised the 22-year-old for his standing within the game’s very best, while speaking to the BBC Football Daily podcast. Rice has been impressive this season for West Ham, helping them to Europa League qualification, while missing just six Premier League games in the process. “In my opinion, Declan Rice going into the tournament is one of the best defensive midfielders in the tournament and in Europe, for the performances he put in for West Ham and his country so far,” said Lampard. “Albeit we still have to remember he is still a pretty young lad. “Declan Rice has been outstanding all year.” Rice has long been linked with a move to Chelsea, since Lampard's time and now Thomas Tuchel is said to be a huge admirer of the England international.
