Former Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor delivers Leeds United promotion verdict after Premier League update

Former Aston Villa player Gabriel Agbonlahor says that it's important for Leeds United that the Championship sets a resumption date and finishes the season after it was announced that the Premier League will restart on June 17th. Speaking on Football Centre (Sky Sports), former Aston Villa man was asked if there would be more focus and pressure on the Championship after the Premier League restart date was announced. To which he answered: “I think it’s so important for the Championship to finish the season. “You look at Leeds and West Brom… Those players, those fans will be desperate to see their sides get promoted. “A lot of teams are around the play-offs, the relegation zone needs sorting… The season has to carry on and if it finishes later than the Premier League and has to start later than the Premier League next season then that’s what you have to do. “They can’t do what they’re talking about doing with points-per-game in League One and League Two. They can’t do that. “What’s at stake with promotion and relegation is massive. I don’t think it’s fair on either league but especially on the Championship.” source - motleedsnews.com
