Manchester United are considering the possibility of signing a striker on loan in January transfer window, following Marcus Rashford injury.
The 22-year-old striker came on as a substitute and then went off injured during United’s 1-0 home win over Wolves in last week’s FA Cup third-round replay.
Following Liverpool’s defeat, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer announced he picked up a back injury which could keep him out for three months.
Solskjaer announced, the club are desperate to sign a replacement for the injured player.
"It's just an unfortunate situation we're in," Solskjaer told Sky Sports. "It might be, because the window is open, we might look at some short-term deals as well and that could take us through until the summer.
"We're looking at numbers as well because we have had many injuries so if the right one is there, it'll fit for us and we can buy and if there are loans available, it might be possible but I've got players here as well who are chomping at the bit."
Here are five possible replacements for Rashford.
Olivier Giroud
Olivier Giroud will be out of contract at the end of the season. The Chelsea star has a great Premier League experience after spells at Chelsea and Arsenal. Giroud wants to leave Chelsea in this transfer window. The France international has been linked with Inter Milan, however, his reported move to the Serie A side failed.

Luka Jovic
Luka Jovic joined Real Madrid last summer, however, he struggled to impress. The striker could be allowed to leave the club to regain his confidence. Jovic has scored 27 goals in 48 games for Eintracht Frankfurt last season and could be an excellent addition to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.

Edinson Cavani
Paris Saint-Germain boss Thomas Tuchel has announced they are negotiating for a possible move for Edinson Cavani. Experienced striker looks set to leave the club and he has been linked with Chelsea, Tottenham and Atletico Madrid. His move to United could be a great boost for Solskjaer.

Michy Batshuayi
Batshuayi is a king of loan spells. Since his move from Marseille to Chelsea in 20169, Batshuayi spent loan spells in Borussia Dortmund, Valencia and Crystal Palace. In the summer he returned to Stamford Bridge, but his loan move is possible. Batshuayi will also be a great addition for Solskjaer’s side, as he has Premier League experience.

Paco Alcacer
