FIFA changes that hand Tottenham a major Son Heung-min, Giovani Lo Celso and Erik Lamela blow

Tottenham would lose all non-European players to international match duty in 2022 under new FIFA fixture changes. FIFA have replaced the September 2020 international match window, which was due to take place from August 31 to September 8 this year, with a window now taking place from January 24 to February 1, 2022 for all confederations except UEFA. The AFCON finals will also be included in the January 2022 window - and because this is an official FIFA window, European clubs will have to release players for international duty. For Spurs, that means every player from outside of Europe and under the jurisdiction of UEFA will go and play for their respective nations. As things stand right now, in terms of first-team players, Davinson Sanchez would go away with Colombia, and Erik Lamela, Giovani Lo Celso, Juan Foyth and Paulo Gazzaniga would go away with Argentina. Son Heung-min would join up with South Korea, Serge Aurier would link up with the Ivory Coast and Lucas Moura would report for international duty with Brazil. Source: Football.london
