Federer confirms change to 2019 tournament schedule

Roger Federer was so close to lifting his 21st Grand Slam title, however, in the longest final in the history of Wimbledon Novak Djokovic beat the Swiss 7-6, 1-6, 7-6, 4-6, 13-12. Federer has decided not to play in the Rogers Cup in Montreal which stars on the 5th August and his next competitive tennis will be in Cincinnati at the Western and Southern Open which starts on the 11th August. The Swiss said: “Looking ahead, we had decided on the team that I was to skip Montreal a week ago to give my self enough time. I wish I had more (time) but I don’t so I’m just going to take enough time off when I can and then prepare for Cincinnati”
