Fabrizio Romano: Magalhaes completes his medicals
LOSC Lille defender Gabriel Magalhaes has completed his medicals in London and will soon sign a contract with Arsenal, Fabrizio Romano reports.
The Italian journalist wrote on twitter: “Gabriel Magalhães has completed his medicals with Arsenal today in London. He’s with his agents now ready to sign his contract until June 2025 and finally going to be announced as new Arsenal player. Here-we-go confirmed.”
Arsenal were the most initiative club in the negotiations with the French side. Manchester United, Napoli and Everton were also interested in Magalhaes, but their did not take concrete actions to compete with the Gunners.
Ahead of the player’s move to Arsenal, here are the shirt number available at Gunners that Gabriel could take.
Gabriel wears number 4 at Lille, however, that number is currently occupied by William Saliba at Arsenal. Instead, the 22-year-old could take No.6, which has been vacant since the departure of former club captain Laurent Koscielny.
No 5 could become available if Sokratis Papasthopolous leaves the Premier League side as he is being linked with a move and Napoli are interested in signing him.Other players that are being linked with a move and whose numbers Gabriel could take are No.15 Ainsley Maitland-Niles, No.20 Shkodran Mustafi and No.16 Rob Holding.
