Tottenham winger Lucas Moura has opened up on managerial change at the club and has admitted the arrival of Jose Mourinho has given him the confidence and opportunity to show himself.
The 27-year-old joined Spurs from Paris Saint-Germain for £23million in January of last year. He found first team opportunities hard to come by under former boss Mauricio Pochettino, even though he was Tottenham's hero in the Champions League semi-final second leg against Ajax as he scored a hat-trick.
However, he believed he was being benched due to Harry Kane's return.
Moura has featured regularly following Mourinho's arrival and has managed to score three times for his club.
Speaking to
The Sun, Brazilian international has talked about Mourinho's impact:
“He (Mourinho) has given me many opportunities and confidence. It’s important in football," said Moura.
“Everyone knows with Mauricio I wasn’t playing. It’s normal when you change the coach, change the motivation and I want to show something. I feel very good, I’m happy to play and help the team."
"I feel better every match and when you’re playing you feel that much better. I’m ready to help and that’s what I want.”
