The Premier League season 2018/19 is coming to an end. Only two games remain to play, but four clubs are still striving for the Champions League qualification. It's time for clubs to think about next season
Clubs should decide which players will stay in the team, and who will be sold. There are players in the clubs, whose contract expires in the summer.
But this time we will talk about Arsenal. Here are six Arsenal players out of contact in the summer.
Aaron Ramsey
371 games with 65 goals and 65 assists summarize the years that Ramsey spent in Arsenal. In the summer, the player's contract ends with the club and he will join Juventus.
The saddest thing is that Ramsey will not be able to play a farewell match for the Gunners. This season is over for the Wales international due to injury.
The midfielder had an injury re-assessed last week and the news he was dreading was confirmed. Although the tear is not as severe as Arsenal docs feared — and does not require surgery — it is season-ending and will take around two months to heal.
Petr Cech
Another player, who will no longer play for Arsenal is goalkeeper Petr Cech. But unlike Ramsey, he will not play in another club.
Cech has announced earlier this year that he will be retiring at the end of the season.
After 15 years in the Premier League, during which time he won multiple trophies with both Chelsea and Arsenal, the former Czech international has called time on his illustrious career.
Danny Welbeck
Welbeck, whose contract ends with the club in the summer, has made 126 appearances for the Gunners, with scoring 32 goals and creating 15 assists.
However, he has suffered three serious injuries and has missed 120 games since he arrived in 2014 for £18m
There was no sign of him being offered a new contract. But last week it was reported that Arsenal were going to offer him demoted terms more reliant on performance-related bonuses.
Everton, West Ham, Valencia and Newcastle have all been linked with a move for Welbeck this summer.
Nacho Monreal
Monreal, the Spanish left-back, who has made 240 appearances, has scored 10 goals and created 19 assists for Arsenal, will be out of contract in the summer.
Barcelona are just one of the clubs trailing the Spaniard’s status as they look to sign a back-up to Jordi Alba.
Arsenal, however, are desperate to tie him to a new contract to avoid losing him to Barcelona for nothing.
Stephan Lichtsteiner
Stephan Lichtsteiner said earlier this month that he has begun talks with Arsenal over a contract extension, but he doesn’t want to stay if he’s not going to play regularly.
The right-back only signed a one-year contract with the Gunners and joined from Juventus.
With 21 appearances in all competitions, the full back is yet to convince the Arsenal fans that he deserves another year on the wage bill.
Denis Suarez
Current season for Denis Suarez is over due to a persistent groin injury. The 25-year-old has failed to start a single competitive match since completing a loan move from Barcelona to Arsenal in January has been restricted to just six substitute appearances in all competitions.
Likely he will go back to Spain and Arsenal will not sign a permanent deal with the Spaniard.
