Everton confirm a huge injury blow ahead of Tottenham clash

Everton have confirmed a huge injury blow ahead of their Premier League clash against Tottenham. The club is sitting on the 16th place of the Premier league table, having just 10 points on their side. The Toffees winger Bernard has undergone a medial knee ligament injury, after picking up the problem during the club's 3-2 defeat to Brighton at Amex Stadium. Being a key member, the Brazilian has made 9 appearances for the club boss Marco Silva's side. Recently the 27-year-old has scored in the 2-0 win against West Ham United. Speaking on the incident, Everton said in a statement: "Everton Football Club can confirm Bernard suffered an injury to his right knee during our game against Brighton on Saturday. Scans have subsequently revealed the Brazilian has sustained a grade 2 medial ligament injury. Everton medical staff will speak with the club's knee consultant in the coming days to ensure the fastest possible return to play." The Toffees will be on an action for their Carabao Cup clash against Watford tomorrow.   Source: Football.London
