Everton have
confirmed in their 2019/20 retained list that Nathangelo Markelo has been offered a new contract.
The 21-year-old had an uncertain future at Goodison Park as he didn't get enough playing time and was coming to the end of his contract. The Toffees have opted to retain his services and they’ll be hoping he signs the extension.
Markelo moved to Everton from Volendam back in 2017 and has made 59 appearances for the U23s, scoring two goals and making four assists.
The young defender didn’t have an opportunity of featuring at right-back with Seamus Coleman, Jonjoe Kenny and Djibril Sidibe ahead in the pecking order. He didn’t stand a chance of featuring in midfield with Andre Gomes, Jean-Philippe Gbamin, Fabian Delph, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Tom Davies in his way either.
