EURO 2020 Matchday 2!
The Netherlands are set to welcome Austria on their second matchday of the Euros on Thursday, June 17, at the Johan Cruijff ArenA.
Both teams picked up three points in their first games and are leading the Group C standings.
Frank De Boer's side picked up a 3-2 win over Ukraine, while Franco Foda's men beat North Macedonia 3-1.
The Netherlands have lost just one match out of their last six games, while Austria picked up just two wins out of six.
Ahead of the match. Netherlands' coach De Boer said: "Matthijs de Ligt will start. He has trained well in the last few days. He took part in everything, he is ready. When it’s that hot [30C], you don't need to press all the time but find other ways to create chances. Austria have been on the rise for many years. They have unity, and are very difficult to beat."
While Austria boss Foda added: "One thing is clear: we still need points to qualify for the round of 16. This is exactly what we need to keep doing; the boys won the [opening] game and made history."
Here are the predicted lineups.
Netherlands Starting XI: Stekelenburg; De Ligt, De Vrij, Timber; Dumfries, Wijndal, F de Jong, De Roon; Wijnaldum; Depay, Weghorst
Austria Starting XI: Bachmann; Lienhart, Alaba, Hinteregger; Lainer, Laimer, Sabitzer, Grillitsch, Ulmer; Baumgartner, Kalajdzic
The Netherlands will play in Amsterdam, as mentioned, which will obviously give them a psychological advantage and our prediction is that the home side will pick up a 2-1 win.
