ESPN FC: Matthijs de Ligt nears an agreement with Barcelona

Ajax defender and captain Matthijs de Ligt has been linked with a move to several European clubs including Barcelona, Juventus and Bayern Munich. The youngster with Ajax has reached the semi finals of the Champions League after knocking out Real Madrid in the round of 16 and Juventus in the quarter finals. According to ESPN FC, Barcelona are close to reaching an agreement to sign the young from Ajax. De Ligt's teammate Frenkie de Jong will be part of Barcelona's 2019/20 squad and it is believed that Matthijs de Ligt wants to follow de Jong's steps. Matthijs De Ligt's agent Mino Raiola is in regular contact with Barcelona, who value the signing of De Ligt on the same level as De Jong, around €75 million. However, after the win over Juventus, de Ligt was asked when he would announce his transfer to Barcelona, to which he replied:  "Announce? There is nothing to announce."
