Xhedran Shaqiri speaks out of his relationship with Jurgen Klopp and his intentions of playing as No. 10

Jurgen Klopp seemed very unhappy after the loss to Chelsea in the cup as he was seen storming onto the pitch and confronting Shaqiri in full view of the cameras. However, Shaqiri has revealed that his relationship with Klopp is perfect. ‘I have a very good relationship with [Klopp],’ Shaqiri told Blick. ‘It is a lot of fun to work [with him]. We did not talk much about the League of Nations. I am happy. I think I’m relatively close to the first eleven. Very close.’ The Switzerland international’s only start this season was against Southampton in a 3-0 Premier League win, and although Shaqiri starred in the first half Klopp decided to substitute the forward at half-time. He also spoke out of his intention of playing as No.10. ‘It is certainly different if you as a player have such freedom [as a No.10],’ he said.
