Alan Shearer has shared his thoughts on forward Ivan Toney whom Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing before the January transfer window concludes.

Arsenal have been eager to capitalize on set piece situations, and a transfer target showcased similar skills just hours after Arsenal's victory. Ivan Toney, returning for Brentford, impressed Shearer with his all-round performance, including scoring the opener in their 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest.
Despite his recent ban, Toney's swift and impactful display caught Shearer's attention, suggesting he possesses qualities that could make him a valuable addition to a club like Arsenal.
Shearer said on the BBC’s Match of the Day, via TBR Football that Toney played a huge part in Brentford's victory. The former Premier League man discussed the attacker's goal, saying: “It’s a fantastic strike.
“And I said about him not just being a focal point down the middle there, what about that [pass] again for Keane Lewis-Potter, it’s a wonderful ball.
“Linking play was excellent [by Toney], holding the ball up there and putting it in behind.”
Shearer added: “Another wonderful ball, the weight of pass was superb in behind there for [Neal] Maupay.”
