Old Trafford will not be one of the host stadiums for the 2028 European Championship, as Manchester United withdrew from the selection process due to uncertainties surrounding redevelopment plans.
UEFA has confirmed that Euro 2028 will take place in the UK and Republic of Ireland, with matches scheduled at Manchester City's Etihad Stadium.
Although Old Trafford was initially shortlisted by the Football Association in their bid dossier, Manchester United couldn't guarantee its readiness for Euro 2028.
Redevelopment plans for the stadium are on hold, pending the conclusion of the Glazers' strategic review, which has not yet resulted in a takeover or new investment for the club.
In a statement, Manchester United expressed their commitment to maintaining Old Trafford's status and their eagerness to host international matches and major events in the future.
