Tottenham Hotspur have targeted Bayer Leverkusen's center-back Edmond Tapsoba and is reportedly monitoring his situation.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the North London club has been a long-admirer of the 24-year-old Burkinabé. After finishing eight under interim coach Ryan Mason last season, the Spurs will be looking to renovate the squad under Ange Postecoglou to make a strong comeback in the 2023/24 campaign.
Although no center-backs were linked with Tottenham in recent times, landing a defensive power will be one of the central tasks for the incoming manager. Tapsoba is believed to be keen to make a move to Spurs and play in the Premier League.
Ryan Mason's side had a tumultuous defensive performance in the previous season, managing only 10 clean sheets in 38 matches and conceding a staggering 63 goals, ranking as the sixth worst record in the Premier League. Bringing in Tapsoba would be a valuable addition to squad, yet, in order for the North London club to be competitive for trophies in the upcoming season, Postecoglou must surround him with top-class players.
