Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly expressing interest in FC Copenhagen's Roony Bardghji, an 18-year-old winger, with several top European clubs also considering a move, as per Danish outlet BT, via TBR Football.
According to the report, Spurs are considered a significant contender and could potentially compete with Chelsea for Bardghji's services. Copenhagen are anticipating a lucrative deal and is hopeful for a record sale, with Victor Kristiansen's transfer to Leicester for approximately £17 million currently holding the record.
Contract renewal talks with Bardghji, whose deal runs until December 2025, have been postponed by Copenhagen, with the focus shifting towards making a substantial sale in the upcoming transfer windows, the report added.
BT notes that Bardghji is presently in London, according to his Instagram profile, but it remains uncertain whether this is related to a potential move to England.
Previous reports have suggested that the Swedish Under-21 international has a price tag of £30 million, which would set a record for the Danish Superliga's highest sale.
Despite his young age, Bardghji has demonstrated exceptional talent in the Danish top flight, recording 11 goals in 30 appearances across all competitions this season and a total of 15 goals and one assist in 71 outings for Copenhagen.
A scouting report from Football Talent Scout's Jacek Kulig in 2021 praised Bardghji's "world-class" potential, likening him to Lionel Messi and highlighting his electric pace and acceleration, making him extremely dangerous on the counter.
Bardghji could be a promising prospect for Tottenham, which has performed well under manager Ange Postecoglou and looks set for a bright future.
