Michael Owen has shared his high praise for James Maddison and Son Heung-min for their pivotal roles in helping Tottenham secure a well-earned point against Arsenal on Sunday.
Spurs' captain scored both of their goals, and James Maddison provided the assists. The two goals in the 2 - 2 draw played a key role for the club as they shared points at the Emirates Stadium.
Son Heung-min has now surpassed Thierry Henry with six goals in North London derbies, a fact noted by Michael Owen, who commented that Tottenham made their second goal look effortless during his remarks to Premier League Production.
“They made that look easy (Tottenham’s second goal),” said Owen, via HITC.
“In theory, it’s an easy pass, but it’s the timing of the pass. Making sure everyone is onside. It’s the timing, the weight and it’s the finish. The calmness.
“It’s two players at the top of their game. If Tottenham are asking for two players to be bearing down on goal there, then you are thinking ‘please be Maddison and please be Son’, and it was. They made a difficult enough of a situation look easy.”
