Former Premier League striker Alan Shearer has heavily criticized Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez for his error during the club's 2 - 2 Premier League draw against Arsenal.
Mauricio Pochettino's squad put themselves ahead of the opponents 2 - 0 at Stamford Bridge due to the goals from Cole Palmer and Mykhailo Mudryk. However, the Gunners managed to make a comeback, with Declan Rice scoring his second goal for the club and Leandro Trossard equalizing late in the game.
This London derby will be remembered for a series of goalkeeping errors, with Raya enduring a challenging day for Arsenal. He was fortunate when Palmer failed to capitalize on another mistake after being beaten by Mudryk from long range.
Sanchez followed with his own mistake, as his pass ended up at the feet of Rice, who curled the ball into the open net to reduce the deficit for Chelsea.
The Blues goalkeeper also escaped a potential penalty after colliding with Gabriel Jesus, even though he clearly fouled the Brazilian. Shearer strongly criticized this decision on the Match of the Day television program.
Speaking on the BBC show, the former Newcastle United star said, via Football London: "They should have (a penalty). There's no doubt about it.
"Sanchez has just come out and he wipes him out, Jesus. What's key for me is that he catches him in the head. Look, he goes right through him here. It's a terrible challenge."
