Leeds United have secured the signing of Ethan Ampadu from Chelsea on a four-year contract.
The 22-year-old versatile player becomes the first addition to the team since Daniel Farke took charge as manager of the relegated club.
Ampadu initially joined Chelsea from Exeter City as a teenager in 2017 but struggled to establish himself at Stamford Bridge, featuring in only 12 matches. Instead, he spent the last four seasons on loan at RB Leipzig, Sheffield United, Venezia, and Spezia.
During his loan spells, he played a significant role in the Wales national team, earning 43 caps and participating in Euro 2020 and the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
The young defender's ability to contribute across the defensive line and midfield provides Leeds with added depth, quality, and experience as they embark on their Championship campaign.
