Real Madrid close in on Lucas Torreira

Arsenal’s player Lucas Torreira, who put in some phenomenal performances lately, has emerged as a possible transfer target of Europe’s top clubs and Real Madrid are the favourites to land him. Real Madrid seem interested in bringing the 22-year-old defensive midfielder to the Bernabeu. The European champions have struggled for form this season after Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure to Juventus and are eyeing reinforcements, according to latest odds. Their oldest rival, Barcelona are the second favourites to land the young Uruguayan's signature. Manchester City is another club, interested in him. The Uruguay International, who joined the Gunners from Sampdoria for around  £26.5m in July, has been a revelation this season. Torreira helped his new side to a 22 unbeaten run in all competitions.
