Manchester United missed the chance to move third in the Premier League as they threw away a lead, had a man sent off and lost 2-1 to Wolves. The loss has taken their hopes of a top four finish out of their own hands.

United lost at Molineux for the second time in two-and-a-half weeks having gone down by the same scoreline in the FA Cup last month.

Ashley Young was then sent off for two bookable offences in the second period, and Wolves won the game when Chris Smalling bundled the ball into his own net under pressure from Leander Dendoncker.
