Manchester United legend and TNT Sports pundit, Paul Scholes, has voiced his criticism of Arsenal's goalkeeping choices.
Scholes firmly believes that Aaron Ramsdale outperforms David Raya and questions Mikel Arteta's decision to favor the Spaniard.
The 28-year-old joined the North Londoners from Brentford during the summer transfer window, initially taking up the position as the second-choice goalkeeper.
Aaron Ramsdale was the designated number one between the posts at the time. However, the manager has since elevated Raya to the role of the team's number-one goalkeeper and has publicly expressed his admiration for the Spanish shot-stopper, despite a few errors along the way.
The pundit remarks highlight the ongoing debate over who should be guarding the Arsenal net, as Ramsdale's performances have garnered significant praise, while the keeper has his manager's trust despite some lapses.
“I think the goalkeeping situation has brought question marks, when I don’t think there was any need for it. I think [Aaron] Ramsdale’s done very well.
“OK, he’s probably not as good with his feet, but Ramsdale’s still very capable with his feet and this keeper [David Raya] has come in and he’s making mistakes every single week.” told Scholes to TNT Sports.
