Owen Hargreaves has shared his high praise for the former Manchester City teammate David Silva and shared a joke he made during their playing spell at Etihad.
Hargreaves believes that the Citizens have been fortunate to witness a talent like Silva, while he considers the current City squad as one of the best in club history. Many fans, especially the younger generation, view Kevin De Bruyne as the club's greatest player, others regard Silva as the finest to wear the sky blue shirt.
The Spaniard possessed exceptional ball control, vision, and the ability to find space effortlessly, making him one of the Premier League's all-time greats.
Hargreaves expressed his admiration for Silva's skills and recalled a joke he once made to the star during their training sessions. The conversation took place during Hargreaves' time as a City player in the 2011/12 season.
“David Silva, that guy. This is what happens when you play against David Silva. This distance we have between us, two metres, that’s what Silva finds in the game, the whole game," he said on the official Man City podcast.
“I said to him once, joking, in training, because he’s so light on his feet you can’t even hear him. David was just floating around. We were in training, I checked my shoulder and he was there. I checked again and he was gone. I said ‘I tell you what David if it doesn’t work out in football, you’ll have a great career breaking into places! He was so light on his feet, his touch, he was two steps ahead," Hargreaves added.
