Newcastle United considering a move for rival club's defender

Newcastle United are reportedly considering a late move for Harry Maguire from Manchester United, less than 100 hours until the end of the summer transfer window.

Following consecutive defeats against Manchester City and Liverpool, Eddie Howe might be reconsidering his approach to Newcastle's summer transfer plans. With limited options for experienced center-backs who thrive in high-pressure matches, the Red Devils'  outcast is speculated to be a potential fit, as reported by Chronicle Live.

With the presence of his England teammate Kieran Trippier, Maguire could be enticed to join Newcastle if given the opportunity by Howe. While a deal is far from confirmed, there are compelling reasons that make this move favorable for everyone involved.

On the other hand, multiple other sources hint that the 30-year-old is no longer on Manchester United's list of players for sale. This choice was influenced by Raphael Varane's injury during the halftime of the match against Nottingham Forest.
