Mohamed Salah has praised his Liverpool teammate Roberto Firmino, stating that the Brazilian will be remembered as one of the best footballers to have ever played for the club.
Firmino's departure from Anfield was confirmed in March after eight seasons with the Premier League side. Although he was no longer a regular starter, the Brazilian still made significant contributions off the bench.
During his time at Liverpool, Firmino scored 111 goals in 362 appearances and won six trophies, including the Champions League and the club's first league title in 30 years. He formed a crucial part of Liverpool's successful attacking trio alongside Salah and Sadio Mane, and his work ethic and team-oriented mindset were highly regarded by his teammates.
"I think he's one of the ones [who has] been loved the most because everybody likes him. He's really calm, always smiling. And as I said before, when you see someone sacrifice himself for the team, you see everybody loves him here," Salah said when speaking about his teammate, via 90min.
"He is going be one of the best players to ever play for Liverpool. He won the Premier League and Champions League and all the cups. He won everything with the club and he's one of the best ever to play for Liverpool," the Egypt international added.
As Firmino's contract expires at the end of the month, his future destination remains uncertain, with speculation linking him to clubs such as AC Milan, Juventus, Inter, and Real Madrid in Serie A and La Liga.
