Maurizio Sarri highlights Chelsea weak points following their 3-0 win over Southampton

Chelsea head coach Maurizio Sarri has challenged his team to improve after their 3-0 victory over Southampton on Sunday. The Blues continue their winning Premier League campaign having won six matches. Eden Hazard fired the visitors ahead on 30 minutes, before Ross Barkley doubled Chelsea’s lead in the second half. Alvaro Morata added a third in injury-time as Chelsea returned to the top of the Premier League alongside Manchester City and Liverpool. In his post-match interview Sarri admitted he was pleased with his players but challenged them to improve. ‘I think we can do better, they had two or three opportunities. We can do better, especially defensively. ‘We need to be in control of the match, we can do better in the defensive and sometimes offensive phase. ‘Today we did wrong in two or three counter attacks. I think we have the possibility to improve.’ ‘It’s the same that I thought one week ago,’ he added. ‘I think Manchester City and Liverpool are a step forward. ‘We need to recover the gap. Now we are trying to cover the gap and we are working on that. I think it will be very difficult to cover so large a gap in one season.’
