There is a strong belief at Manchester United that Marcus Rashford will soon commit to a new contract, formalities of which are expected to be completed in the upcoming week as the preseason kicks off at Carrington.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the Englishman's new long-term deal at Old Trafford is close to being sealed. However, the official announcement's exact timing remains in the club's hands.
While the agreement is not officially concluded, Romano points out that talks are in an advanced stage, with only a few details that need clarification. Erik ten Hag's side consider securing Rashford's future as equivalent to a significant new signing, especially given the fact that the player's previous contract was set to expire in 2024.
Several top clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), are closely monitoring Rashford's situation. The 25-year-old was one of the top goalscorers during the Premier League 2022/23 season with a tally of 17 goals.
