Kevin de Bruyne suffered an injury during Manchester City's Champions League final game against Inter Milan and didn't continue as City were crowned champions.
According to Daily Star, De Bruyne suffered a hamstring injury and he will miss the start of the new season.
The midfielder won't be available for City's Community Shield game against Arsenal and will probably miss the Premier league season opener against Burnley on August 11.
However, City's medical team are hopeful that De Bruyne will make his return on August 16, at least from bench, when City face Sevilla in the Super Cup.
