Manchester City eye one PSG player for Bernardo Silva swap deal

Manchester City are open to discussing a player exchange with Paris Saint-Germain involving Bernardo Silva, according to RMC Sport’s journalist Fabrice Hawkins, via City Xtra.

Silva's potential departure from the Etihad Stadium has been increasingly likely, as he has expressed interest in moving elsewhere amid the French club's huge interest. Negotiations between the two clubs have reportedly begun after the Citizens' secured a Treble.

The recent report claims City requested 17-year-old Warren Zaire-Emery as part of a potential deal, but PSG swiftly rejected this proposal.

Zaire-Emery, who made 10 starts and scored two goals for PSG last season, is highly rated and has two years remaining on his current contract. Manchester City's counter-proposal came after PSG's offers of Marco Verratti or Gianluigi Donnarumma were turned down, as the French club aimed to lower the asking price set by City.

While PSG have attracted Silva's interest in recent weeks, it is stated that his preference still lies with a move to Spain, where he has received interest from Catalonia and is fond of the lifestyle there.

If Silva departs from Manchester City this summer, it is believed that the club has identified Chelsea's Mateo Kovacic as his potential replacement, with a move to Manchester expected. Furthermore, the Sky Blues have shown interest in West Ham's Declan Rice and could compete with Arsenal for the English international's signature.
