The interest around RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol grows in Manchester City.
As per 90min, Pep Guardiola's side will make a move for the Czechia international in the upcoming transfer window. Gvardiol's performance in his national team have been remarkable in recent tournaments and he has emerged as one of the best defenders in world football in recent months, especially after the World Cup 2022.
Last summer, Chelsea came close to signing the left-footed center-back from Leipzig, but were unable to reach a deal. Despite the Blues' continued interest, their lack of European competition for the 2023/24 season significantly diminishes their chances of convincing the player to join them at Stamford Bridge.
Gvardiol's contract with the German club includes a clause valued at slightly under £100m, which is set to become effective from 2024. However, as previously reported by 90min, Leipzig is willing to accept a lower amount in order to facilitate the player's transfer.
