Liverpool to face HUGE injury boost as key player's fitness hint raises optimism for clash vs Man City

Liverpool fans received a positive update as Ibrahima Konate dropped a strong hint about his availability for the upcoming match against Manchester City.

The center-back was notably absent from The Reds' recent Premier League win over Brentford due to a recurring hamstring issue, an ailment that had kept him away from international duty with France.

Initially, there were concerns about the defender's fitness, especially after being rested for the Europa League clash with Toulouse. However, national team manager Didier Deschamps clarified the situation, attributing the absence to the familiar hamstring problem.

"He had tests, but it’s not serious," stated the head coach. "He needs a bit of time to not take any risks. It’s an area where he already has an injury.

"It wasn’t in his interest or mine (to call him up). In the best case scenario, he could only have been available for training on Friday [November 17] or Saturday [November 18]."

The news comes as a relief for Liverpool supporters, eager to see the 24-year-old back in action, especially with the challenging away fixture against the defending champions on the horizon.

Konate, meanwhile, in his latest social media post, shared a video highlighting his intensive individual coaching and fitness regimen. The footage showcased a focused effort on the left leg, which had been a cause for concern two weeks ago, along with running exercises.

Alongside the video, the Frenchman captioned: "No days off. Big week incoming #YNWA,".
