Liverpool to experience a transfer blow as the youngster's move is unlikely

Liverpool are considering a move for Chelsea's promising defender, Levi Colwill.

The 20-year-old center-back caught attention during his loan spell at Brighton and Hove Albion last season, impressing with his performances. Although he has returned to Chelsea, the London club is keen on retaining him for the long term.

As per Football Insider, Liverpool are interested in acquiring the talented young defender, recognizing his breakthrough season. However, his parent club are determined to keep hold of the promising player, potentially indicating that Colwill may remain at Stamford Bridge.

The Reds' need to strengthen their defensive options, particularly after underwhelming performances from Joel Matip and Joe Gomez last season, is well-known. After having dour of their senior players making a free leave at the end of the season, Jurgen Klopp's side is expected to wave goodbye to captain Jordan Henderson.

Colwill possesses the qualities to develop into a top-class Premier League player, making him a potentially valuable long-term investment for Liverpool. If he stays at Chelsea, it would be a disappointment for the Reds, forcing them to consider alternative defensive targets.
