Jurgen Klopp is “definitely looking" at young midfielder from rival club

Liverpool's interest in Crystal Palace's Cheick Doucoure has been confirmed by Liverpool journalist Neil Jones.

The Reds are exploring potential midfield options, and Doucoure's name has emerged as a candidate. Jones mentioned that conversations with sources indicate that Doucoure's defensive abilities could be beneficial for Liverpool, addressing the team's vulnerability to counter-attacks and opposition's ease in playing through their midfield last season.

 "I think he is a name Liverpool are definitely looking at or is in the mix," said the journalist. 

Having made a strong impression at Crystal Palace last season following his move from Lens to the Premier League, the 23-year-old's potential departure from the Eagles would only occur if a substantial offer is presented.

A report from The Athletic suggests that Palace might consider Southampton's £50 million valuation of Romeo Lavia as a reference point in determining Doucoure's worth, as both players are targets for Liverpool.
