Jurgen Klopp has aimed a chicky dig at Chelsea's huge summer spending spree in response to a question about Liverpool pursuit to sign Thiago Alcantara from Bayern Munich. Liverpool have been heavily linked with Thiago but are yet to reach an agreement. Meanwhile, Chelsea have already signed Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech. Moreover, they are expected to bring in Ben Chilwell, Thiago Silva, Kai Havertz and Malang Sarr. The Blues even have been linked with a move for Lionel Messi. Klopp has refused to publicly talk up a move for the Bayern midfielder and claims Liverpool need to be cautious with their summer spending following the coronavirus pandemic. When asked about Liverpool’s potential move for Thiago in an interview with Servus TV, Klopp replied: "There are a lot of interesting players out there but if someone is interesting for us I can’t say right now. Due to Covid-19 you have to think five times about what you can and what you can’t do. We always have to pay attention to the financial aspect. We don’t know how much money will come in. "Nobody knows but it seems like some other teams have a more positive outlook on the future… if you look at Chelsea for example [laughs]. But I am very happy with my team right now. If something transfer related will happen we have to see."
