In preparation for the upcoming 2023/24 season, Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly showing interest in Barcelona midfielder Nicolas Gonzalez, as manager Julen Lopetegui looks to rebuild his squad.
The summer has been a busy one for Wolves, as they have generated around £80 million through player sales, including the departures of Ruben Neves, Conor Coady, and Nathan Collins, with more potential exits speculated.
Not only have key players like Joao Moutinho, Adama Traore, and Diego Costa bid farewell to Molineux at the end of their contracts, but it has also created an opportunity for Lopetegui to introduce fresh talent to the team.
One player who has caught the attention of the Spaniard is the 21-year-old, with reports suggesting that the Midlands outft are among the interested parties.
According to Mundo Deportivo (h/t Football Fancast), the midfielder will participate in pre-season with the Catalans before making a decision about his future.
With his agent being Jorge Mendes, there is a possibility of the player joining Wolves, who could provide a suitable environment for the young talent to flourish.
The player is valued at €15.7 million (£13 million), making him an affordable option for the Premier League side. Having spent the previous season on loan at Valencia, the Spain U21 ace gained valuable playing time in La Liga, following his breakthrough campaign at Camp Nou the year before.
