Jamie Carragher names the team he wants to see playing vs Manchester City in the Champions League quarter-finals

Jamie Carragher hopes that Manchester City faces tough opposition in the Champions League to increase Liverpool's chances of winning the Premier League.

As the season's climax approaches, several teams remain in contention for the title, with Tottenham and Aston Villa also in the mix. However, it's Manchester City, Liverpool, and Arsenal battling it out at the top.

Currently, Liverpool lead with 51 points, closely followed by City and Arsenal with 49 points each, setting the stage for an intense title race.

Liverpool, under the leadership of iconic manager Jurgen Klopp, is eager to secure the title, especially as Klopp is set to depart the club in the summer after nine years. Carragher, expressing his desire for Liverpool's success, suggests that City and Arsenal facing each other in the Champions League could distract them from their league campaigns.

He believes that Arsenal, in particular, could pose a challenge to City in Europe, potentially benefiting Liverpool's title aspirations. However, Carragher emphasizes the reluctance to see City triumph again in the Champions League.

“I’d love Arsenal to get City in the quarters because I think Arsenal are one of the few teams who could knock City out," the former Liverpool man said on Stick to Football, via Manchester City News.
