Jamie Carragher believes Manchester United should sign West Ham star Declan Rice instead of Mason Mount this summer.
Mount has emerged as a priority target for the Red Devils, with Erik ten Hag showing huge interest in him for the ongoing transfer window. United are yet to reach an agreement over the Blues' midfielder's potential move to Old Trafford, with Fabrizio Romano now claiming that Chelsea want €80m for the player's services.
Amid the recent reports, Carragher has urged the Premier League giants to go for Rice instead of Mount and explained his choice on Metro.co.uk.
"United are one of the few teams at the top who don’t play 4-3-3, it’s usually two midfielders with Bruno Fernandes," the former Liverpool man said.
"I do think he [Mount] is a good player and I like him, I wanted Liverpool to get him. Lots of coaches have picked him and like him. There is already a good player in there but Declan Rice would suit United more than Mason Mount in terms of how they set up," he added.
