"I’m told": Sky Sports journalist claims Antonio Conte "really likes" 25-year-old Tottenham target

Sky Sports journalist Michael Bridge has opened up on Tottenham's pursuit of a new midfielder. The Spurs have been heavily linked with the move for Sofyan Amrabat for the January transfer window. Bridge claims that Florentina man is close to making a move to the North London side, with Antonio Conte being the admirer of the player. “The midfield needs serious, serious work. Every time Spurs play Chelsea I think ‘Kovacic is on the bench, oh no. Kante is on the bench, oh no.’ They can’t do what they want to do this January. I know this is frustrating, the players they want, they can’t get them in right now,” the journalist said. “Sofyan Amrabat is not first-choice, I think he’s a stopgap for now. Now, Conte, I’m told from a colleague in Italy, he really likes Amrabat. I’ve said it time and time again on Sky, if Conte likes a player, it’s good enough for me.”
