"I spoke to": David Moyes reveals West Ham planned to sign Liverpool player

David Moyes has revealed that West Ham were planning to sign Luis Diaz in January before Liverpool. The Colombian winger signed for the Reds in this January transfer window from Porto for a fee of £49m. However, manager Moyes now admits that the Hammers have been planning to get the 25-year-old in January, and Liverpool were supposed to sign him in the summer. The Irons' head coach has told about his move, quoted via Fabrizio Romano.
"I spoke to Luis Diaz. My understanding is Liverpool were going to come in for him in the summer, and I was going to try and get him in January," said Moyes.   "I don't know if us trying to get him in January affected Liverpool's decision".
