Harry Maguire's salary is set to be reduced to £100,000-a-week from £190,000 if he makes a move to West Ham, according to The Athletic journalist Laurie Whitwell.
David Moyes' side and Erik ten Hag's side have agreed on around £30m worth deal for the England international. Personal terms are yet to be agreed, but it is seen that Maguire is keen on the move.
The Dutch manager's decision of replacing Maguire with Fernandes as the club captain has significantly affected the 30-year-old's decision. In addition, the Englishman did not get enough game time at Old Trafford during last season.
As reported by Whitwell, Manchester United are anticipated to make a payment to Maguire before his move to West Ham to compensate for some of his financial losses.
The once-club star joined the Red Devils in 2019 for a record £80 m fee for a defender.
