Gary O'Neil highlights work needed before Wolves player is ready to start

Wolves made waves with their summer signing of Enzo Gonzalez who left his childhood club, Libertad, in a £5 million deal to join Molineux.

Prior to this transfer, the Paraguayan farthest journey had taken him to Brazil. Now, he's adapting to life at the Molineux, and it's clear that the Wanderers are being cautious and gradual in integrating him.

In a conversation with The Athletic, Gary O'Neil acknowledged that the 18-year-old development will be a gradual process, as he has several areas that require improvement.

“He still needs a lot of work, as expected. People might read that and think it is a negative, but it isn’t, it’s just where he is and to be expected.

“He is a young lad and the Premier League is a top level. So he needs a lot of work and we’re trying to get it into him as quickly as we can.

“He’s enjoying being around and I’m sure he will have an impact.”
