French World Cup winner Marcel Desailly thinks that Kylian Mbappe should join Liverpool as they are not "at the end of the cycle" like Chelsea.
The Ligue 1 superstar, facing issues at Paris Saint-Germain is now being associated with Premier League clubs. Despite Mbappe's desire to leave PSG without any transfer fee in a year, the club is pushing for a sale during this transfer window.
According to Desailly's statements to BoyleSports, Liverpool and Chelsea are in different stages of their competitive cycles. He believes that Mbappe's decision shouldn't be based on short-term considerations of one or two years, but rather on a longer-term commitment of four or five years.
Desailly points out that Liverpool's situation is distinct from Chelsea's, as they haven't undergone a major cycle shift. He mentions that the choice facing Mbappe is about a more extended period, and he doubts the feasibility of a one-year loan, given these circumstances.
Unlike Chelsea, Liverpool has managed to retain a strong core of players at Anfield. Desailly notes that Liverpool faced a downturn following the sale of Sadio Mane, emphasizing that his departure left a void that wasn't adequately filled with a player of similar impact and philosophy.
