Frank Lampard has claimed Dominic Calvert-Lewin is "getting to stage" ahead of Everton's upcoming match against Newcastle United.
The Toffees are set to face the Premier League rivals on Wednesday, while ahead of the game, Lampard has met the media to provide the latest team news.
Speaking about Calvert-Lewin's fitness, the boss said, via Liverpool Echo. "We've got to be careful with Dominic, making sure we gradually bring him in but as quickly as possible. He's getting to the stage, hopefully we can get to that stage."
Lewin has been out of action for the most part of the 2022/23 campaign which rose doubts over the player's possible involvement in the World Cup 2022 that will start in November.
Lampard believes Everton attacker needs time to return to his best form and will surely be considered as a possible England national team member for the major tournament.
