Ferguson was ‘ready to apologise’ to Manchester United squad for selling the Russian player

Former Manchester United winger Andrei Kanchelskis has revealed, Sir Alex Ferguson "was ready to apologise" to his player after his move to Everton. Ferguson sold the winger to Everton in 1995. "When I left United, Ferguson was ready to apologise to the whole team," Kanchelskis told Sport-Express. Ferguson later revealed he felt he had to sell Kanchelskis due to concerns about alleged financial dealings around the player. David Beckham moved up to replace Kanchelskis. "Beckham wrote that if I had not left Manchester, he would not have played. It’s nice that I gave him the way," Kanchelskis said. "As a result, they recognise me more in England than in Russia."
