Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta remains on top of Manchester United's shortlist of strikers, as per transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The Serie A club's asking price for Hojlund is £86 million. Initially, Erik ten Hag's side valued the talented Danish ace at around €60 million. The 20-year-old has showcased his abilities by scoring 16 goals and providing seven assists across all competitions for Atalanta.
According to The Mail, the young striker himself has expressed a strong desire to join Manchester United, as he believes that working under the guidance of Erik ten Hag would allow him to flourish. It is worth noting that the young forward shares the same agency, SEM, as Ten Hag, which could potentially provide Manchester United with an advantage in negotiations.
As United's Dutch manager seeks to secure a top-class striker, the club have been exploring other possibilities, including Tottenham's captain Harry Kane and the highly sought-after Napoli forward Victor Oshimen. While Hojlund may not possess the same level of experience as these players, his performances demonstrate the significant potential that can be further developed into something remarkable.
Personal terms between the club and the player are thought to be issueless. The Red Devils are yet to make their official bid to the Italian side.
