Erik ten Hag names the main reason behind Manchester United's latest poor form

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has admitted his team lacks "consistency" as he was discussing the club's latest poor form.

After a top-four finish and the Carabao Cup win, the Red Devils' run was expected to be even better during the 2023/24 campaign. However, United are yet to show any positive results as they are currently sitting in 10th place in the league table with nine points.

Furthermore, United's Champions League opener in the group stage against Galatasaray ended up with the Premier League side's 3 - 2 defeat to the opponents despite the dominating start.

As the club's latest form raises concerns, Ten Hag was asked about the reason behind United's latest downgrade.

"Consistency. That is the problem we are struggling with," the Dutch manager said in the pre-match press conference ahead of the Brentford clash, via Manchester Evening News.

"In parts of the games, in big parts, we do a lot of things right, but we have moments where we struggle and in such moments we can't survive. We need to do the right things, be consistent and do it like before, so definitely you can mark such a moment like when we score or concede a goal. We have to step up."
