David Raya has opened up on the reason behind his choice to join Arsenal this summer.
The Brentford goalkeeper has now officially made a move to the Emirates Stadium on a season-long loan deal.
Being asked about what attracted him to continue his playing spell at Arsenal, Raya told the club's official website: “Obviously, the club mainly & obviously the boss."
Raya explained that he had a conversation with the manager who shared the current values of Arsenal and the camaraderie among the players. The keeper also noted the club's upward trajectory and saw it as an appealing opportunity and challenge that he couldn't turn down.
"I spoke to the boss & he sent me the values of what Arsenal are about now & the group of lads that we have here. The way that the club is going, it’s growing even more, so it is a beautiful challenge to take & I couldn’t say no," he added.
